So the time for my monthly update on which companies I bought into to solidify my dividend income.
With the dropping of the fees to purchase shares at Fidelity, I am more apt to make smaller (and more) purchases.
My annual dividend increased by $56.92. That's money just for being alive. I let my purchases do the work for me. If I did this for 10 years, I'd be making at least $6,800 more per year.
Most of the money spent was from dividend income. That's the snowball effect.
And these companies all have a long track record of increasing their dividend. That compounds too. I did put $200 of my own money into it this month I plan on doing so with every paycheck this year. That will be and extra $5,200 to invest.
This is easy to do with a bit of dedication.
I started this with a dribble of money. After 5.5 years, my portfolio now past $400,000
All you have to do is make the leap..
So here goes....
That's 11 purchases for a total of $1,701.27.
I bought some AT&T and Starbucks as part of my share buying to match my annual spending at those companies. You can read about that here . I will be updating that goal shortly.
I started new positions in CNQ (Canadian Natural Resources) a natural gas company in Canada, DK (Delek Holdings) an oil refiner, HBAN (Huntington Bancshares) an Ohio based bank, OMF (Onemain Holdings) another bank in the midwest, and WTFC (Wintrust Financial) yet another midwest bank.
My portfolio needed a bit more diversity in the financial and energy sector, so I followed through.
Please feel free to comment. I NEED FEEDBACK!
Cheers!
